Fife Police bust major Marijuana grow

Fife Detectives received a tip of a possible marijuana grow operation from officers in the patrol division. Detectives followed up on the tip of a strong odor of marijuana coming from the 2400 block of 54th Ave. and they proceeded to keep the home under surveillance for several days until a search warrant was obtained. The homeowner was arrested Wednesday evening after leaving the residence and is in Pierce County Jail pending charges of unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance. Over 500 marijuana plants, in various stages of growth, were seized as evidence from the home owner's basement and garage.
