Robbery at Fife Jiffy Lube

On 1/9/2013 at approximately 1330 hrs., Fife Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a robbery that had just occurred at the Fife Jiffy Lube.  A male suspect was reported to have entered the business and he attempted to take three air filters without paying for them.  When he was confronted by an employee about paying for the items, the suspect threatened to stab the employee with a knife.  He then ran from the store.  A patrol officer responding to the robbery saw a male matching the suspect’s description a short distance away from the business and stopped to contact him.  The male threw items he was carrying under nearby vehicles and turned toward the officer and threatened to assault him.  The suspect then told the officer he wanted the officer to shoot him.  Other officers arrived and the suspect was taken into custody.

The suspect was later booked into Pierce County Jail for first degree robbery.

Robbery at hotel

On 1/7/2013 Fife Officers responded to a hotel in the 3100 block of Pacific Hwy E. for a robbery call.  Officers arrived and found a 30 year old male who had been sprayed in the face with pepper spray.  He told officers that he had arranged for a female who was posting on backpage.com as an escort, to come to his room to give him a massage.  When the female arrived, she and the victim agreed to a price for the massage and she excused herself to go to the bathroom.  After a short time, a male suspect began knocking on the door to the hotel room and when the victim opened the door, the male attempted to force his way inside the room.  At the same time, the female exited the bathroom and began spraying the victim in the face with pepper spray.  The victim reported that the female suspect stole his money from his wallet and she and the male suspect ran to a nearby vehicle and fled the area.

Fife Detectives were able to track the female down and arrest her.  She was booked into the Pierce County Jail for 2nd degree robbery.
