FPD holds Community Partners Forum

Today FPD was filled to capacity with members of the community! Business owners, church clergy, doctors, residents and representatives from home owners associations throughout the city attended a community partner forum aimed at strategic planning and what some might say as much needed departmental improvements. The event was scheduled to help create the focus and direction for the future of the City's Police Department.

Those in attendance represented a cross section of community & stakeholders. They had a background and a history regarding city views and opinions that the department needs if it's going to be a true reflection of the community. It is important for the department to know how each of their groups are affected by crime and what they feel should be done to help address crime within Fife.

The day began with presentations from each division within the department, two live K-9 Demos, a tour of the facility, jail, dispatch center and Incident Command Vehicle. Lunch was then provided to attendees, along with more presentations and the day's events concluded with an open forum and feedback session where community members were encouraged to express their input as to what they think the department needs to do in the future, what they could do differently, and what they can do better.
