Saturday, June 2nd, was the first annual Fit in Fife Day! This was the kick off event for the City of Fife's proclamation of June as "Pedestrian Safety Month". Events for the day included a morning fitness class, a 5K run and lots of Pedestrian Safety information. FPD provided Free bicycle helmets for any child in need of a proper fitting helmet. Other safety giveaways from FPD included: reflective slap bracelets, spoke reflectors, Safe Rider Citations and child ID kits for parents.
Beginning in the month of June, Fife Police Officers will participate in "Pedestrian Safety Month" by rewarding children who they see wearing a bicycle helmet, while riding, with a "Safe Rider Citation" card! This card entitles the rider to a FREE Vanilla Cone from any Western Washington McDonald's!
