Homeowner interrupts burglary in progress

At approximately 09:00 officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress in the 6000 block of 28th St. E. Officers detained one female suspect after the homeowner came home to find the suspect walking out of his residence with personal items in her arms. The homeowner chased and held the suspect until officers arrived. The female suspect gave conflicting information to officers about whether or not she had a male accomplice. Two nearby schools were temporarily locked down while a K-9 track was conducted. The search for the second suspect came up negative however detectives are following up on multiple leads to identify him.
