On 1/9/2013 at
approximately 1330 hrs., Fife Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a
robbery that had just occurred at the Fife Jiffy Lube. A male suspect was reported to have entered
the business and he attempted to take three air filters without paying for
them. When he was confronted by an
employee about paying for the items, the suspect threatened to stab the
employee with a knife. He then ran from
the store. A patrol officer responding
to the robbery saw a male matching the suspect’s description a short distance
away from the business and stopped to contact him. The male threw items he was carrying under
nearby vehicles and turned toward the officer and threatened to assault
him. The suspect then told the officer
he wanted the officer to shoot him.
Other officers arrived and the suspect was taken into custody.
The suspect was
later booked into Pierce County Jail for first degree robbery.
