At approximately 10:31am officers were dispatched to a collision at the intersection of 54th Ave. E. and 12th St E. A semi travelling southbound on 54th Ave. E. struck a passenger vehicle, spinning the rear of it into a building and injuring the two occupants of the vehicle. A woman and young girl were both transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The semi also struck a power pole which knocked out power to surrounding areas. Tacoma Public Utilities continues to work on restoring power and says it may take several hours until all customers regain service. The driver of the semi was arrested for reckless driving.
