Prostitutes arrested
On December 6, 2012, Fife Police Detectives conducted a prostitution operation in the 5200 block of 20th St E. Detectives were notified of a large volume of women posting adds on backpage.com under the adult-escort section that were sexual in nature. The adds indicated that the women were conducting business in and around the City of Fife. Undercover detectives were able to contact these females who agreed to come to the location and exchange sexual acts for money. Five women and one male were arrested and booked into jail for prostitution and felony drug crimes.
Warrant arrest and drug/money seizure
On December 5th at approximately 1600 hours;
Fife Police Officers were on a patrol call in the 2400 block of 62nd
Ave E. As part of their investigation,
officers discovered a vehicle that was registered to a male with a felony
warrant for his arrest for a residential burglary in King County. Officers went to a nearby apartment to
attempt to locate the suspect and spoke with a female resident who allowed them
to check inside her apartment to verify that the warrant suspect was not
there. While looking in the apartment
for the suspect, the officers saw what they recognized was drug paraphernalia
and heroin on a nightstand in a bedroom.
The officers detained five people inside the apartment and a search
warrant was applied for by Fife Police Detectives. The warrant was granted and during a search
of the apartment, detectives located over eight ounces of heroin, methamphetamine,
and approximately $33,000 in US currency.
None of the suspects claimed ownership of the drugs or the money. All five were booked into the Pierce County
Jail for felony drug charges.
