Car smashes through bedroom wall, narrowly missing sleeping resident.
On the morning of July 21st at approx 0530 hours, a resident of The Lakes at Fife apartment complex was awaken by a car crashing through her bedroom wall, coming within inches of where she lay sleeping in her bed. Officers were dispatched and arrived moments later to encounter several witnesses of the incident who either saw the suspect vehicle speed away or heard the crash as it happened. The suspect vehicle was then located by officers just a few blocks away, abandoned with major damage. The owner of the vehicle then ran up to officers on scene claiming that his car had been stolen. Through investigation it was determined that the owner of the vehicle, who was also highly intoxicated, was the actual driver at the time of the collision, fled the scene, abandoned the car, and returned on foot with false claims of a stolen vehicle. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Fife Jail on charges of Reckless Endangerment, Hit and Run and False Reporting.
