Residential burglary at Sherwood Park Apartments

On July 16th at approximately 12:18 pm, Officers responded to a reported burglary at the 2300 block of 62nd Ave. E. Officers developed information regarding stolen items from the burglary to a possible suspect within the complex. The suspect had an outstanding arrest warrant with Auburn PD and barricaded himself into his apartment refusing to comply with officers requests to exit the residence for fear of arrest on the outstanding warrant. By 3:30 pm a search warrant was obtained and officers entered the residence, arrested the suspect and found the stolen property which included a laptop along with several rental checks belonging to the apartment complex. The suspect now faces possible charges of residential burglary, possession of stolen property 2 counts, obstructing a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

Alleged violence in vehicle

At approximately 11:20 am officers responded to a report of a male and female physically fighting in a vehicle. The witness called in the incident from the intersection of Pacific Hwy E and Port of Tacoma Rd. The vehicle then entered the freeway onramp and officers were able to locate and stop the vehicle at mile post 132 on SB I-5. The male driver of the vehicle was arrested for driving with a suspended license and now faces pending charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance when methamphetamine was found in his pocket. The female suspect reported a false name to officers and upon discovery of her real identity was arrested for a felony warrant out of Tacoma. Both parties claim the argument was only verbal.

4th of July burglary

At approximately 3:40 pm on July 4th, Fife Police and Tacoma Fire responded to an audible alarm at the 1400 block of Alexander Ave. E. indicating a burglary in progress. A suspect was detained on-scene after exiting the building in view of Tacoma Fire personnel. Officers arrested the suspect and booked him into the Fife Jail. The suspect now faces possible charges of Burglary 2nd degree and Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree for having reportedly stolen ID in his possession at the time of arrest.
