FPD announce traffic safety/speeding detail
In response to
several citizen complaints about speeding vehicles in their neighborhoods, the
Fife Police Department will be conducting city wide speed enforcement details
beginning this week. The goal of these
details is not to necessarily write speeding tickets, though some will be
issued, but to educate motorists about speed limits at different locations in
the city and to make city streets safe for the citizens that live on them. Officers will also be looking for other
violations including defective vehicle equipment and overweight vehicles traveling
on roads that are prohibited to them.
The first detail
will be:
March 21st on Freeman Road between Valley Ave E and North Levee
Rd.
Questions or comments can be directed to Lieutenant T. Thompson at 253-896-8287.
